Campaign generates loads of new business for Hanson

Our creative for Hanson’s multi-product campaign has generated some exceptional results, which at the end of the day is what it’s all about. Design effectiveness is key. Hanson said: “the multi-product offer has been very well received in the market and has led to us taking on quite a few new customers, gaining 18k tonnes of new business. I think we can regard this as a success!”. Absolutely.

Chloe’s Coast to Coast Adventure

If you like sheep, hills, grass, English weather, tight lycra and the North, then I’m delighted to tell you the Coast to Coast bike ride is for you! I’d know, I cycled all 170 miles of it over 3 days, raising money for Cancer Research.

Whilst cycling from Morecambe to Bridlington, I learnt a few things:

England has lots and lots and lots of sheep
Sunglasses tinted orange make everything look like the Maldives, if the Maldives were quaint Northern villages with streams, lambs and all that country stuff
England has lots and lots of hills/mountains – “Get the JCB, we’re digging a tunnel”
Hail hurts when you’re cycling into it in shorts
If you’re on the verge of a physical and mental breakdown, eat a flapjack.

But at the end, when you see the sea and nearly ride full pelt into the sign, you feel spectacular. Like a superhero, complete with spangly lycra.

E.ON holds record-breaking Rampion events

We were recently briefed by E.ON to produce various materials for the Rampion Offshore Wind Farm community consultation. The 12 events took place over an eight-week period and we’ve just been down to sunny Brighton for the final one.

This is the largest community consultation E.ON has ever undertaken, communicating with the whole of Sussex, all of which we mailed! If approved, the wind farm could have up to 195 offshore turbines off the coast of Brighton & Hove, making it one of the largest offshore wind farms in the world.

Our client Chris was extremely pleased with the materials and the success of the events.

“Thank you all for putting in the extra time and effort to make this consultation such a success. We’ve most certainly succeeded in putting together a fantastic suite of materials for promoting the events to a wide audience. We’ve had a record-breaking 4,511 people to the events, which is fantastic!”

We’re chuffed to bits that the events have gone so well and for the lovely feedback!

New website is the icing on the cake

As well as creating an identity for Lacey Cake Co we’ve also been busy designing a new website for them, which has recently gone live! It’s the icing on the cake (excuse the pun) for owner Sarah Lacey who said: “Having an effective website is really important to the success of my business. I didn’t want anything over-complicated and what Michon created for me is perfect. It’s simple yet beautifully designed and totally embodies the Lacey Cake Co. brand.”.

I’ve got to say I love the underfloor heating, it’s so much nicer than the kennels where I was staying. The Michon team have been so nice to me on my first day at the office, but it’s been pretty exhausting getting round them all for a fuss – there’s so many of them – I’m pooped. But now I’ve got my own dog blog I just want to take this opportunity to thank Su and Kerry for rescuing me and giving me a comfy new home. Afterall, the Michon gig is just my day job – I think it’s in my contract and dog description to meet and greet – I’m pretty good at that. Anyway, drop by and see me and the rest of the team soon. Felines, fairies and flowers… fab fun for a four year old.

Leaving Sheffield to go and live in Oxford would be a big thing for anyone to deal with. But when you’re only four and you have to leave all your friends behind, it’s even harder. That’s why we pulled out all the stops to give Alexia a new room to die for.

With the help of our good friends at MX Display, we designed the graphics and they produced them. And then we installed it all before she moved in. It’s simply the Michon way, for clients big or small or even just four, we always give 100% on any project. Especially ones with fairies and secret doors. The only problem is now, her parents can’t get her out of her new room. Oooops!

Feeling fresh as daisies – honestly!

Yesterday team Michon did us proud by running the Sport Relief Mile. Some ran six miles, others ran one, but they all ended looking as fresh as when they first started (OK – that technically might not be true). There was absolutely no competition between the group at all (loud cough!), but Dan was pretty chuffed to lead the pack through the finish line in 57 minutes.

They even managed to raise over £600 for Sport Relief. Well done guys. Next stop – the Robin Hood half marathon!

Flagship films for E.ON’s B2B Corporates Team

We’ve just finished creating nine films for E.ON’s B2B Corporates Team.

We used time-lapse, Steadicam and panning shots edited with layered graphics to create fast-paced visuals that reflect the dynamic industry and energy needed to drive it.

We drafted scripts, interviewed staff and even travelled to the trading centre in Dusseldorf to demonstrate the Corporates team’s extensive expertise and depth of knowledge, plus the range of products and services they offer. Powerful statements and keywords are brought out as text layers over the top of films to reinforce messaging and make the subject easier to understand.

The films take viewers on a virtual journey through the business, allowing existing and prospective customers to meet the team in an informal way and to give a warm, honest, human feel. Supported with customer case studies, it helps show a softer, friendlier edge to what can sometimes be a complex product and service offering!

They’re being uploaded to E.ON’s website as we speak!

Going potty at Ruth’s Hen do!

The Michon girls were looking for something a little different to start Ruth’s prenuptial celebrations off – so we went pot painting! There were lots of tongues poking out of mouths in concentration and we even had a recreation of the scene in Ghost! Thanks for a fab night Ruth, we all wish you and Lucas the very best for a long and happy future.
