New Hanson projects added to portfolio

Whilst working on a new-look website due for launch in the next couple of months, we’ve added a couple of our more recent projects to the Hanson section of our online portfolio:

REGEN branding and launch campaign

Hanson wanted to strengthen their position within the market by re-launching one of their core cement products. They had already generated a new name for it, but needed a completely new identity.  So we gave them a really strong brand that would cut through the noise and appeal to key decision-makers such as architects and engineers.

Multicem packaging

After acquiring Castle Cement, Hanson wanted to re-launch its Multicem product under the Hanson brand, whilst retaining the strong brand equities of Castle. So we created a design that did just that, giving the product a new lease of life and a much stronger presence in both the trade and consumer markets.

 

Top 10 SEO Myths

.Net magazine has recently published an article debunking the top 10 myths surrounding search engine optimisation. The world of SEO and online marketing is still shrouded in mystery, often perpetuated by those who work in the field.

Ever since I started working specifically with online marketing as a separate entity to web design or development, I realised that there really is no trick to it. As with any other marketing platform, it is a case of proper planning, ongoing commitment and regular reviewing that will ensure success. This article goes some way to expand on that approach whilst highlighting a few specific things which I’ve heard many times… and make me cringe every single time!!

The top 10 things that people often get wrong are:

  • You can’t guarantee any results
  • A high Google Page Rank does not equal high search engine rankings
  • Google doesn’t endorse any agency/marketer
  • Meta Tag Keywords do not matter
  • You can’t cheat your way to the top
  • There’s no point in cramming keywords onto the pages
  • Paid advertising doesn’t help organic ranking
  • Don’t assume everyone will hit the homepage first
  • You can’t simply ‘do SEO’ once
  • There’s more to life than getting to the top

Happy Birthday Vikki

Vikki, our Office Manager, turned 30 today so to celebrate we covered her chair and desk in toilet paper and topped it off by adding a subtle reminder of her new age! The bright pink inflatable 30 was a huge hit, until she realised she couldn’t get in the cupboards. Have a great birthday Vikki!
