Front page on The Drum!

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

Based on the success of last year’s ‘lights’ theme, we retained the contract to work with De Montfort University’s marketing team on their undergraduate campaign for 2010, including brand new photography and work on the prospectus. We were also lucky enough to make it onto the front page of The Drum website this morning with this story! Stay tuned to see some of the new imagery here soon…

Our work on the E.ON visitor centre is on The Drum

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

We’ve now worked on six visitor centres for E.ON and our latest work on their Lockerbie centre has just been featured on the Drum. The new centre is based at one of the UK’s largest dedicated biomass power stations and will be used as an educational resource for school children. We designed bespoke features for the centre including a sustainable house, a human turbine to illustrate the physical energy needed to power household items and other displays such as touchscreens featuring interactive quizzes. Michon give DMU’s new business initiative a boost

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

De Montfort University has recently launched their new ‘Skills for Business’ work-based learning programme. We were asked to create a unique ‘look and feel’ for the Skills for Business initiative that would set them apart from the competition. We wanted to show that Skills for Business can help businesses and employees to get ahead, even in these current tough times, and so, our ‘Boost’ concept was born.

We used various propulsion props to represent ‘boost’, including powerisers, pogo stick and a trampoline, which made for a pretty energetic photoshoot! We then got cracking on piecing all of the elements together and with some complex retouching gave the images their all-important boost. Here’s a few pictures to show how we did it. No wires. No magic. Just a white background and a lot of imagination.

Not only that, their assembly dress that can be taken apart and buttoned together again means you can mix and match ’til your hearts content! The possibilities are endless…

Art running dry…

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

We all enjoy a good exhibition and we wish we’d had an invite to this! Hannes Broecker in Dresden, Germany came up with the concept of combining his exhibition with grabbing a glass. The idea is that you interact with art to stimulate your senses, in this case taste. Broecker hung a variety of cocktails in flat glass containers in the exhibition space with only the colours to guide people. The exhibition was a great success and by the end of the evening the art had run dry…
