Clean graffiti

Friday, March 27th, 2009

We recently used a cool new guerrilla marketing technique to support an exhibition for our friends at Scene Photography. For those who haven’t come across it before, it’s referred to as ‘clean’ or ‘reverse’ graffiti. It’s 100% legal (believe it or not) and better for the environment as it doesn’t use inks or paper – just rainwater, a power hose and a stencil. This was the first time it had ever been done in Nottingham and, if it means we save trees in the process, we hope to do more.

Caption Competition Results!

Friday, March 20th, 2009

Thanks to all of you who entered our Caption Competition to help us raise money for Comic Relief!

We had lots of funny ‘funnies’ sent in, but there can only be one winner, and that is… drum roll please…

“Comic Relief helps clothe families in the UK as well as abroad.”

The winning entry was sent in by Dennis Grant at E.ON. Congratulations Dennis! A shiny red iPod Shuffle is winging its way over to you.

And here’s just a few of the runners up:

“ITV weren’t sure that their rival to ‘Life on Mars’ would take off.”

“The Christmas look-a-like party was going well with Jeremy Clarkson, Esther Rantzen and Ron Weesley all attending, but they weren’t sure who the young girl with glasses was supposed to be.”

“You can choose your wallpaper, but not your family.”

“The curtains – £2.50
The carpet – £4.20
The wallpaper  - £1.80
The dress – £6.50
The shame in years to come when you realise they don’t match: Priceless
For everything else there’s MasterCard…”

“The eldest had been a victim of Mum’s headlock before and knew to stand well back. Next door’s cat was in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

“The Michon Brother’s first attempt at re-branding wasn’t as successful as they hoped.”

“Thanks to Comic Relief the lesser known fourth Bee Gee brother was successfully re homed with the Michon Family.”

“Not everyone was happy to see the Bee Gees leave town.”

“On the twelfth day of Christmas, Mr Michon saw…..
12 clashing patterns,
11 shades of brown,
10 baubles hanging,
9 cats lives,
8 eyes-a-gazing,
70’s chic,
6 sort of pack(!)
5 o-p-e-n  b-u-t-t-o-n-s,
4 happy faces,
3 michon siblings,
2 ginger boys…………….and a semi-naked son by the tree!”

“Jeff reluctantly agreed to take a break from practicing his dance moves for the upcoming ‘Saturday Night Fever’ competition, to have his picture taken with the family for Christmas!”

“70’s style changing rooms backfires as family hold Linda Barker’s cat to ransom.”

“Christmas at the Osbourne’s!”

“”My freshly waxed chest is gonna whip dem girls into a Saturday Night Fever,” thought Jeff!”

“Although you can only see a little….. the tree is clearly the best dressed in the room!”

“Only the cat….. can be proud of it’s outfit.”

“You too can help deprived children like these, please give generously.”

We went all out for Comic Relief this year and we’re thrilled to announce that, in total, we’ve raised £506! Thanks to all of you who entered our caption competition, ate our cakes or brought your filthy cars here to be washed!

This money could help to pay for:

506 hot meals for young homeless people here in the UK or,
101 mosquito nets to help protect young children from malaria, a disease which is fatal in Africa or,
50 sessions with counsellors for young people living with domestic violence at home or,
16 outward bounds activity days for young carers, giving them a much-needed break or,
10 minibus’ with wheelchair access for half a day outing for a group of isolated older people to enjoy an outing together
1 hot, nutritious lunch for over 12,144 children living in extreme poverty in Zambia.

Here’s a picture of our cake baking and car washing team, complete with shiny red noses!

Thanks again for all your help! We’re just about to announce the winner of the iPod shuffle from our caption competition so watch this space…

This gets our vote for the cutest viral campaign ever!

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

We’ve been trying to persuade the bosses that an office dog is a good idea, but unfortunately we’ve had little success so far. So, when we came across this inspired viral from Samsung, it certainly made our Tuesday! We particularly like the hiccuping hedgehog…

Needless to say, if anyone has any similar projects in the pipeline, please give us a call!
